Removal of PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from our main water supply would be very helpful to preserve a healthy community. As we introduced North Attleboro as a make-up source of water we have seen elevated PFAS in our drinking water supply. Based on the timing of the new wells it looks like we have the potential to be in this situation for several more years. There are technologies out there to remove PFAS. I believe there is value to the town in assessing the cost of a system to remove PFAS (as well as other harmful chemicals) to improve the quality of our water.
