The Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School was constructed in 1977 with an approximate square footage of 285,000 on 60.5 acres of land. The school facility is outdated and has significant deficiencies with respect to specialty spaces in lab classrooms, nursing, cafeteria, auditorium, and gymnasium. The main entrance lacks security appropriate security. The cafeteria does not meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, and the structure does not have a fire suppression system.
It is anticipated that the feasibility study will review the problems identified in the Statement of Interest. The current grade configuration (9-12) is not expected to change, and the MSBA agreed-upon design enrollment is 1,000 students.
The options to be evaluated during Feasibility (Module 3 below) include a renovation of the existing school, a renovation and addition of the existing school, and new construction to replace the existing school.
